Happy birthday, Ambria! At the age of one, Ambria is now crawling on her hands and knees and lifting herself up to a standing position. We're still waiting on those first steps, but we're waiting patiently as it's still easier to keep track of her when she crawls. She also claps to "If You're Happy and You Know It" and likes saying "baa baa" to encourage Mommy and Daddy to sing "Baa Baa Black Sheep." She catches on rather quickly to new words and is happy to point out to anyone who asks her where the light fixture in the room is.
We had a small party for her this past Saturday ... small because only the McCrary side of the family was able to make it due to a large snowstorm that hit Wisconsin that day. The Jaeckel side will be coming in the next couple weeks to celebrate. Ambria enjoyed her birthday cake, although she did not want to touch it at first. After Mommy gave her a bite with a fork she touched the cake and put a few bites (mostly of frosting) in herself. In the end she had more fun waving her fork around than eating the cake. She also loved the balloons that we decorated with.
Daddy is still teaching Ambria how to drum (see photos).
